WPC Services Expands Management Team with Key Executive Hires

May 2, 2011

WPC Services, a full-service healthcare technology and business process consulting organization, announced today that it has appointed Rebecca Jones as vice president of sales, Patrick McGrath as director of technology services, and Larry Watkins as director of business services. The seasoned executives, who collectively bring nearly three decades of multi-site healthcare and technology experience, will support WPC Service’s commitment to provide quality solutions and services for its rapidly growing client and partner base.

The hiring of the key executives comes on the heels of WPC’s April 18th announcement of its corporate expansion including relocating the headquarters office to Seattle, Wash., and the opening of WPC Services in metropolitan Nashville, Tenn.

“We are excited to welcome Rebecca, Patrick and Larry to our team,” said Eric Mueller, president of WPC Services. “Their outstanding leadership, industry knowledge and sophisticated technology skills will help us meet strong demand for our portfolio of technical and business services. We consider their roles integral in providing superior client service and expanding our growing consulting business, both of which are anchored in WPC’s vast experience of providing innovative solutions to healthcare companies around the globe.”

Jones will oversee expansion of WPC Services’ sales operations. She brings extensive sales and marketing experience generating multi-million dollar contracts and managing international client relationships in information technology (I.T.) solutions, electronic health records, integration and interoperability platforms, and imaging solutions for more than 20 years. Previously, Jones served as InterComponentWare’s (ICW) vice president of Canadian markets and national accounts, where there she spearheaded the company’s entrance into the Canadian market while managing western U.S. sales. Other previous positions include vice president of Canadian Markets for MedPlus, a subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics, and at First Consulting Group, Dimension Data and Agfa Healthcare. Jones earned a bachelor of arts degree in mass communications from California State University in Hayward.

With more than a quarter century of healthcare I.T. experience, McGrath will use his hands-on technical leadership expertise and business acumen to bring together operational stakeholders and clients’ technical teams during his leading of WPC Services’ technology services. Previously, he was director of application delivery for MedSolutions, Inc. and I.T. consulting leader for PMID Enterprises, Inc., and Outdoor Central. A certified project management professional (PMP), McGrath earned a bachelor of science degree in business and public administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Rounding out the expanded management team is Watkins, a 25-year veteran of driving healthcare business strategy and implementing EDI solutions who now directs WPC Services’ business services. His former positions include executive vice president of strategy and business development at Qualedix and vice president of standards and regulatory affairs at Ingenix. Watkins is highly credentialed in the area of health data exchange and a respected leader and sought after speaker and author. His many achievements include former co-chair of the ASC X12 healthcare task group that created both the 4010 and 5010 versions; co-founder and former co-chair of Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) Strategic National Implementation Process (SNIP); and co-founder of Claredi, a HIPAA transaction solution company acquired by Ingenix. Watkins was honored with a WEDI distinguished service award and the Association for Electronic Health Care Transactions (AFEHCT)’s outstanding contribution award.

“As WPC Services capitalizes on exciting opportunities in healthcare, we’ve seized the opportunity to hire excellent and proven talent to support our long-term growth strategy,” said Andrew Fitzpatrick, chief executive officer at WPC. “We’ve brought on board three outstanding industry professionals—Rebecca Jones, Patrick McGrath and Larry Watkins—who bring a wealth of industry knowledge, expertise and passion for quality. We expect they will build our offerings to clients and extend our business development to the next level.”
